What is it?
In CSR, the layer under the retina leaks fluid, which lifts a small round area of the macula. Things look blurred, darker or smaller in one eye, and there may be a grey spot in the centre.
It is linked to stress, steroid medicines (tablets, creams, inhalers, nasal sprays and injections), poor sleep and type A personality. Stopping steroids, where possible, often helps it settle.

Treatment options
Observation
Most first episodes settle in 2 to 3 months. Stop steroids if your doctor agrees.
Laser or PDT
For CSR that lasts more than 3 to 4 months or keeps coming back.

Some specialists use certain tablets in chronic cases; your retina specialist will advise.

Only if abnormal vessels develop.
