Which eye symptoms are an emergency?
A sudden shower of floaters, flashes of light, a curtain or shadow over part of the vision, sudden loss of vision, any eye injury, and pain or redness after an eye injection or surgery. Call the same day.
Are floaters always serious?
No. Most floaters are harmless. New floaters that appear suddenly, especially with flashes or a shadow, need a same-day retina check.
