Vitreous haemorrhage treatment in Kolkata

চোখের ভিতরে রক্তক্ষরণ

Bleeding into the vitreous jelly causes sudden dark floaters or a red-black haze. The most important step is finding the cause: often diabetes, sometimes a retinal tear. At Spectra a same-day B-scan costs ₹1,000, and vitrectomy, if needed, starts from ₹22,000–25,000.

What is it?

When a blood vessel in the retina bleeds, the blood spreads into the jelly that fills the eye and blocks light. Vision can drop from a few cobwebs to only seeing hand movements.

Because the bleeding can hide a retinal tear or detachment behind it, an ultrasound (B-scan) is done the same day if the retina cannot be seen.
