Dr. Subhajit Das is a dedicated retina and vitreous surgeon who consults at both Spectra Eye Hospital centres, Chinar Park and Madhyamgram. He holds MBBS, DO and MS (Ophthalmology) degrees, the FICO fellowship of the International Council of Ophthalmology, and the FMRF vitreo-retina fellowship of the Medical Research Foundation, Sankara Nethralaya.
Over more than 25 years he has performed over 7,500 retinal procedures. His practice covers the full range of retina work: retinal detachment repair by vitrectomy, scleral buckling and laser; diabetic retinopathy laser and surgery; anti-VEGF injections for macular degeneration, diabetic macular oedema and vein occlusion; macular hole surgery; vitreous haemorrhage; uveitis; eye injuries involving the retina; and ROP screening for premature babies.
He is trained on ZEISS retinal imaging and surgical platforms and uses OCT and fundus angiography to plan treatment. Patients come to him from North Kolkata, Barasat, Barrackpore, Chinar Park, Baguiati, Rajarhat and New Town.
