What is it?
CNVM is the 'wet' process behind wet macular degeneration, but it also occurs in young people with high myopia, after eye inflammation, or with no clear cause.
Prompt injections usually stop the leakage and many patients regain reading vision.
Symptoms
- Sudden wavy or bent lines
- A grey or dark spot in the centre
- Blurred reading vision in one eye
Risk factors and causes
- Age-related macular degeneration
- High myopia
- Uveitis
- Old injury or angioid streaks
New distortion in one eye needs a retina check within a few days.
